Jim,
You can go to the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Science web site at
www.giss.nasa.gov , click on Datasets, click on stations, and click on
Georgia in the map. That will produce a table of weather stations with
long records around Georgia and neighboring states. Click on Atlanta
and you get a graph of Annual average temperatures and the opportunity
to download a text file of monthly temperatures. Download the text file
and fire up MS Excel. Tell Excel you want to Open something and browse
through your hard disk to wherever you put the text file of Atlanta
temperature. Click on Open or OK and you get a three-step process that
tells Excel how to understand the text file. Tell Excel the file is
delimited by tabs and/or spaces and choose General formatting.
You'll now have "official" data in a spreadsheet and can do with it
whatever Excel will let you do (quite a bit actually).
If you have any problems, I can send you such a file in a separate
message.
Best regards.

Colleagues *
Does anyone know where I might be able to locate "citeable" median (50%)
and "worst case" (95%) meterological data from a specific location, say
Atlanta?
Thanks!
