Will,
There are 2 areas of interest.
(1) First was how to handle a situation when no Control badge is
returned. This raised a method, but there are various technical
issues that need to be addressed when utilizing this method.
(2) Secondly, a question was asked as to why not simply use a fixed
subtraction and not use a control badge. This is obviously not a
better approach to background subtraction, for all the reasons
stated.
The discussion and various ideas posed really need to be assessed as
to whether item (1) or item (2) above is the issue at hand. As
stated, they both are quite different, and, propose varying
assessments.
