Gert,

First of all one would have to know what kind of material is used as the grinding agent. Mineral sands are known to contain NORM in different quantities - both the uranium and thorium series. You should find out from the supplier about the "active ingredient" and then it might be easier to find literature - there exists plenty of it. Literature explicitely on the radioactivity of sandpaper I do not know of.
