Jerry has a GREAT idea. Let's add a new diamond to the MSDS safety
labels:

Imaginary Toxicity Index (ITI):

0 Public perception of the hazards of this material is reasonably
congruent with its actual potential to cause harm.
1 Inaccurate perception of the hazards of this material may cause
noticeable stress in some individuals and lead to unnecessary aversion
to use of and contact with this material.
2 General perception of the hazards of this material have caused
excessive regulation of its use. Workers may refuse to use this
substance even when necessary and when adequate safeguards are in place
for handling.
3 Mention of the name of this substance may cause the evacuation of
public buildings and the writing of numerous letters to the editor of
your local newspaper.
4 This is considered the deadliest substance known to man by
politicians, journalists and the general public, even though it is about
as dangerous as cow's milk.

Otto has suggested a concept that could be of great value in dealing
with hazardous materials; namely, that of "Imaginary Toxicity" (IT).
