[ RadSafe ] Nasal Swabs?

They are frequently done at DOE sites sometimes by rad protection personnel sometimes by the individual. I would be very careful about basing any bioassay results on this, even basing the need to perform further bioassay results on this evidence without further confirming evidence.
You can talk to Tom Labone at SRS or Ray Guilmette at LANL, both of whom are in the HPS directory for more information on how they do this.

I am trying to determine if there are any Radiation Protection
organizations (i.e., DOE or commercial power) that are allowing their
radiation protection personnel to perform nasal swabs on those persons
who are thought to have an intake of radioactive material? Is this
procedure considered to be a "medical procedure?"
