Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Spanish Radiation Protection Society (SEPR) I am glad
to forward you the attached First Announcement of the International
Workshop on Processes and Tools for Stakeholder Engagement in
Radiological Protection. 16-18 November 2005, Salamanca, Spain.
Jointly organised with the Societé Française de Radioprotection (SFRP)
and the UK Society for Radiological Protection (SRP).

The main objective of this international workshop will be to
contribute to the development and dissemination of a stakeholder
engagement culture among the radiation protection professionals. The
workshop is structured in order to allow participants to deepen their
knowledge and understanding on what is stakeholder engagement based on
recent international experience of stakeholder engagement in the four
following domains: -Regulation of operating installations, including
environmental monitoring and surveillance. -Siting, commissioning and
decommissioning of installations. -Preparedness and management of
emergency situations. -Recovery and rehabilitation of contaminated
sites and territories.

The participation in the workshop is only by invitation. However,
those not directly contacted by the programme committee and willing to
have an active participation, are invited to contact the programme
committee before 26 September 2005.

I kindly ask you to disseminate this announcement and invitation
between the affiliates of your IRPA Society.
