I do not know the amount you are referring to, but Kr-85 may have some commercial value.

Despite its very low gamma-yield (0.4% for 514 keV), this compound is sometimes used as an industrial gamma-tracer for gas flow. Dependent on the actual process to be studied, ~ TBq's required in small volume (ampoule or small gas bottle).

Furthermore, Kr-85 can also be used as an oil/gas-field radiotracer (producing and injection wells should be connected). Gas samples from a producing well are analysed on beta-decay by sensitive counters. Amount dependent on reservoir parameters, butl also close to TBq's (ampoule or small gas bottle).

I guess there may be commercial radiotracing firms (interested in your Kr-85) active in Saudi Arabia. In such a case, Kr-85 is applied useful before 'ultimate disposal'.
