[ RadSafe ] DU is Responsible for Global Diabetes Epidemic!

Dear Mr.Farber,

"Uranium" appears to attract attention in whatever form it is. I had an article (probably from the ATOM journal) which described the use of uranium salts in the treatment of diabetes. I am unable to trace it now.Copious amounts of uranium salts were given to patients; consequent symptoms such as reduction in urine was actually due to kidney damage, but mistaken to be due to cure of the primary disease!

Believe it or not uranium nitrite is still listed as homeopathic drug to treat diabetes, bedwetting etc!
I was shocked to see that drug is recommnded for "curing" bedwetting of children. Since homeopaths  prescribe extreme dilution, I am not sure whether it will cause any damage to the kidneys!

.......Uranium containing homeopathic medications such as uranium nitricum and uranium aceticum are available today. They are perfectly legal drugs even though the government doesn't recognize that they have any efficacy. (I added the underline)

Uranium nitrate is among  the combination of drugs suggested  to treat childhood bloodwetting 

Uranium Nitricum (Uranium Nitrate) – for treatment of enuresis and remedy for glycosuria (excretion of glucose in the urine).

Probably these thoughts are not appropriate when you wre having happy holidays!

Thanks for posting this bizarre article which tries to make the claim that 
DU is the problem with diabetes rather than the global epidemic of obesity 
and numerous poor dietary habits which are part of the Western diet 
[consumption of refined grains, sugar, etc.] documented as contributing to 
increased diabetes risk when these dietary habits are adopted by a society. 
It's quite clear that Dunkin' donuts, and Krispy Kremes are more of a 
diabetes risk than DU. :-)

Has anyone ever suggested the award of a tribute to some "scientist" who 
seeks to follow in the footsteps of the renowned anti-nuclear manipulator of 
statistics, uniformly discredited by the US National Academy of Sciences, 
Health Physics Society, etc., in the person of Ernest Sternglass.  This 
"AWARD" would take the following general form, and we could call it the: 
"Dr. Ernest Sternglass Wannabe Award"

in honor of Dr. Busby's tireless efforts to appear as a crusading hero to 
innocent members of the public who cannot understand how cynically they are 
being manipulated by a "scientist" intent on self-aggrandizement based upn 
the publics' concern with risk of radiation exposure,  said concern being 
exploited completely out of proportion to the known and proven risks of 
radiation exposure gathered by legitimate scientists as a result of the 
largest body of health and environmental research ever carried out by 
mankind, gathered at a cost of many billions of dollars.
