OK, I will top post!  Ft. St Vrain used a 20% enriched uranium coated 
particle surrounded by a low-Th-230 thorium carbide particle all in a 
silicon carbide/carbide coated particle. I worked at GA for 14 years in 
the HP group.  Interesting place.
