Greetings!

A retired beamport irradiator (J. L. Shepherd Model 81-8) is being
offered as a donation. The unit was originally purchased in the late
1980s, and now has approximately 6.75 Curies 137Cs. The unit is in good
shape, and was in continuous service until retired. We would prefer to
donate to a University in the continental United States or other similar
entity rather than a for profit laboratory. Obviously, the recipient
needs to be licensed to accept such a source. We are willing to work
with the recipient if they need to delay acceptance of the unit in order
to obtain a license amendment. Please contact me at the below address
if interested.
