John and Barbara are btoh correct. There is an effort to stifle NPP growth, and, utilities are pursuing nuclear power. It's all about economics. Utilities are rushing now due to government subsidies, tax incentives and other low cost capabilities. Public opinion is moving towards accepting nuclear energy. Cost of other electricity and forms of energy are expensive now. Back to economics.

USA needs power. Many plants have licenses extended. Will they actually operate until the end of their extended license? Who knows.

Without new generation, the USA will not meet capacity.

So, we all need to push for nuclear, the only sensible option, as a majority of the world has decided.
