Translation:
'Whether confounders, selection bias, or chance play a role in the observed trend with distance "cannot be settled conclusively by this study" the [Süddeutsche] Zeitung quotes from the study.'

Nevertheless this 'non-finding' was sufficient to cause quite a stir in the media - as usual if radiophobia is involved.
