Wes,
I did not send an answer to this question, because I thought it must be a
hoax. I thought that somebody who tries to sell on RADSAFE a whole bunch of
used instruments, which he claims to have used himself should be able to
convert pCi to dpm (or dps aka Bq), and should know that this is
irrespectable of the "substrate" or whether it is electroplated or not.
Assuming that he may have wanted to know cpm (and not dpm) he should know,
that this depends on the type of instrument used, the energy sensitivity,
the area of the detector, the distance to the source etc. etc.
Earlier contributions of Geo>KOFF to RADSAFE made me shake my head, but
because of my experience with being flamed on RADSAFE when I previously
questioned someones qualifications I did not comment.
Is this another troll on the list?
Best regards,
Franz

George,
The answer is 27 x 2.22 = 60 DPM, exactly. The rate of beta emission into
the air from the surface is another number, smaller than 60. The count rate
(CPM) of some instrument placed on the surface is even less.

What is the surface DPM of a 27 pCi Tc-99 electroplated disc source? The
substrate is stainless steel. (by calculation only please)
