Jim,
    I just can't agree that the messenger is just in innocent observer in
all this. In selecting which messages to deliver and which to ignore, the
news media  exert a profound influence on public opinion. The "art" of
public relation consists largely of knowing how to work the system and get
the desired message before the public. Unfortunately, those advocating
nuclear power and sound science are not very good at it.    Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Unfortunately, you're blaming the messenger.  They are just carrying the
message that the government agencies and politicians provide to them.

You can blame them for not being "independent thinkers," but the media
didn't "make up" the LNT and associated fear-mongering.
