Dear radsafers,

I understand that a press conference as described below is being arranged in Mumbai. can some one in the list send me information on the true qualifications of the speakers. I vaquely remember one of the radsafe group members wrote about this author in one of the earlier postings. The latest scientifically known position on the health impacts of DU (if there is any scientific information more than what is in the WHO report and the report of the British Royal Society) may also be sent urgently.

depleted uranium which has been the major cause for the spread of
Cancer, Diabetes, Genetic birth defects/ deformation and a host of
other terminal diseases.

Ms. Moret, a former Scientist of Livermore Nuclear
Laboratory and presently Commissioner of Environment, Berkley, USA is
also the pioneer and coordinator on the fight against the use of
depleted uranium and she will during this press conference enlighten us
and help us spread awareness of this potential danger that most people
in India are oblivious of, that depleted uranium doesn’t just affect
human beings but all living systems- plants, animals, bacteria
including the air, water and soil. Prof. Alfred Webre who drafted the
UN treaty on peaceful usage of space will also be present.

This
press conference along with a powerful audio visual presentation has
been convened out of the concern of the long term devastating
repercussions of war to the environment and the ultimate gradual
destruction of the genetic future of human populations especially after
the recent wars in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq where depleted
uranium was randomly used.
