OPn the contrary, we found that due to the extra time involved the syringe
shields contributed to the dose to the administering nurse.

       Something to take into consideration is that the FDG used for
       PET scans is
       very hot but decays away quickly (2 hr t1/2).  Proper use of
       syringe  shields
       and shielded containers is vital in such a facility.
