Dear Collegues,

this is to ask you whether you know a young student who would like to do a PhD thesis in our laboratory (SUBATECH, Nantes, France) on nuclear waste glass dissolution. The duration is three years, salary 1350 EUR/net. The questions to be adressed concern:
- the mechanism of dissolution/hydration in saturated aqueous solutions and in water vapor,
- the interaction with iron corrosion products and clay materials in the near field of a repository and
- the mobility of radionuclides in the hydrated glass
For the studies, simulated nuclear waste glass will be used.
Of cource this is a very vaste field. Upon interest, more details can be described.

If you know someone interested please ask him to send his CV and letter of motivation by e-mail to
