[ RadSafe ] New Mexico Testing for DU -meaningless associations

I've got an even better one:
Clearly, the world population has increased dramatically since the detonation of the bombs at the end of WWII, increasing in growth as the US and USSR built stockpiles of weapons, and even more as DU weapons were developed, issued, and used. Therefore it can be concluded that weapons using radioactive material benefit humans, causing their population to rise.
For those nay-sayers who point out that the population trends have been upward for several centuries, I will sniff in my best faux-French manner, and point out that this is clearly due to the mankind's collective unconsciousness responding to cosmic vibrations caused by tachyon emissions from nuclear weapons tests echoing backward down the time stream, thus letting our genes know that it was time to breed in a way that makes bunnies nervous. It's all covered in Intelligent Design Theory.

Hi all,
For those that enjoy meaningless associations [either positive or negative] with increased radiation exposure consider the following.
It is interesting to look at the increased rates of nuclear bomb test fallout during the peak days of atmospheric testing [which ended in 1963 for the US and Soviets with the open air test ban treaty] and the fallout occuring through the late 1970s as the atmospheric inventory of test fallout came to earth. This total open air bomb test deposition and radiation exposure to the entire Northern hemisphere dwarfed by countless orders of magnitude anything from DU. Of interest, you will see that rates of death from heart disease in the US declined steadily and significantly throughout the 70's and into the 80's with increased fallout radiation doses to our entire population.
The negative association of fallout with decreasing heart disease rates and heart related deaths is just an interesting -----and meaningless, fact.
It has been said that "There are three types of lies - lies, damn lies, and statistics." - This quote is variously attributed to Benjamin Disraeli [most likely source], Mark Twain and many other dead people. Whoever said it, this is a very relevant quote for HPs.

Of course, the global diabetes "epidemic" has nothing to do with the gobal
raised level of affluence and all to do with radionucldes.
I also note the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome has greatly increased
since the first Gulf War, due no doubt to the mass spreading of depleted
uranium around the world.
What else can we blame on radioactivity?
[The above is sarcasm, for those inclined to take it seriously.]
Focusing on the New Mexico monitoring of veterans also mentioned below, it
looks like they are going about it the right way. I hope they publicize
their results, especially if they don't find any DU in the New Mexico
veterans.
