That tracks with actual measurements. Both the case and crystal windows 
measure the same.
The lowest density calibrated absorber on my bench at the moment is 2.3 and 
the attenuation of Cs-137 is commensurate within statistical variations with 
the 1.3 quoted. In addition there is a reflective coating ( paint?) on the 
crystal itself which cannot be measured directly.

The info was provided to me off-list.  Each window is (according to
their reference data) 1.3 mg/cm2 for a total absorber thickness of 2.6
mg/cm2.
