I'm using an ion chamber and GM to detect soft x-rays (<10keV).? Specs on the ion chamber say exposure rate response at those energies is 50% or less (indicated/actual).? Those on the GM say 200% (indicated/actual). The GM over-responds by 150%, which is close enough to the spec?for this work. Surprisingly, the ion chamber (Bicron RSO-5)?appears to be?spot on! No correction needed.? Anyone play around with soft x-rays, and can tell me if I'm off track?? (Please, no lectures on using a GM to measure exposure rate--I'm not using it for that.)
