International Dosimetry and Records Users' Symposium 2008
Sponsored by Landauer, Inc. and Stanford Dosimetry, LLC
Call for Papers
"Adapting to the Changing Times"
Dates: June 2 - 5, 2008
Location: Park City, Utah - The Canyons Resort, Grand Summit
Meeting website: - coming soon!
The 2008 meeting Task Force has secured a great location for the symposium.
At the same time a preliminary agenda has been developed covering 3 days
with the introduction of a new format on the 4th day, Thursday, titled
"Spotlight Sessions". This day consists of focused breakout sessions
offered on a first come, first serve basis limited to 25 per session.
For the primary agenda, a thoughtful review of past meeting surveys
(courtesy of Ash Chabra and Panasonic) was conducted. As a result, the
direction for this year's content will place an emphasis on actual problems
and solutions as reported from the dosimetry community and practical
experience directly applicable to dosimetry operations. To do this, we need
your help. If you have a topic applicable to the agenda overview that you
would like to present, or have a suggestion for a speaker, please send an
abstract or brief overview to one of the Task Force members by February 11,
2008.
Monday - Wednesday Symposium Agenda Topics:
. Operational Experiences - issues and resolutions, tales from the
field, back to basics, outage vs. routine dosimetry, background subtraction,
neutron correction factors, outsourcing, neutron dosimetry, environmental
dosimetry
. Regulatory issues - DOE, NRC, INPO, ANI
. Secondary dosimetry - comparisons to dose of record, response
issues, new technology
. Dosimetry records - lifetime dose and PSE, multiple dosimeters and
EDE, privacy issues.
Thursday - Spotlight Sessions:
. Records (Isabelle McCabe)
. InLight/microStar Users (Landauer)
. Back to Basics on Steroids (Stanford Dosimetry)
. Doc's Software Users (Doc Grossen)
Space is limited for these breakout sessions.
See you in June!
