NASA Developing Shields Against Lunar Radiation
Aviation Week & Space Technology, 06/16/2008 , page 14
Edited by Patricia J. Parmalee
As part of NASAs return-to-the-Moon program, scientists at NASA Langley
Research Center, Va., are developing flexible polymer materials to create
shielding against solar particle events and galactic cosmic radiation on the
lunar surface. Also, the center is working on rigid materials for shielding,
says Sheila A. Thibeault, senior research physicist at Langleys advanced
materials and processing branch.
