Some obvious questions:

 

1. Has any distinction been made between radioactivity levels and distance from Chernobyl?

 

2. What was the situation with the different species of insects before Chernobyl exploded?

 

3. Is there an analysis relating to the kinds of species and their occurence? This in turn must by related to whether there are/were people and/or cattle in the area (flies - food for various birds and so on).

 

Better search for the original reference.
