Yes, you're right... only SELECTIVELY publishing the damning emails such as 'if an FOIA request comes in, DESTROY your files, DON"T turn them over and follow the rule of law' and 'Let's hide the REAL numbers and just pretend they don't exist'... as opposed to also publishing the REALLY damning emails, like 'Hey Doug, how's the wife and kids? Did you have a good weekend?... certainly makes ME mistrust the hackers/deniers agenda as opposed to the CRU "Scientist"!
SELECTIVE or not, there is NO EXCUSE for these gems...

Mike,
Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?
Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.
We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.
I see that CA claim they discovered the 1945 problem in the Nature paper!!
Cheers
Phil

“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Xxx and I will keep
them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is”
Whether any of this adds up to AGW being at best only half right, and at worst being a total scam... The mere FACT that these "Scientist" TRIED to cover up or manipulate data, and that indeed much other original data has been deleted, SHOWS they KNOW their arguments don't hold water, regardless of their belief that they KNOW they are right...
As for the rest... DUDE!, it's over 160 Mb of information, and it WAS ALL released, on SEVERAL websites. The fact that most 'skeptics' sites who went thru it didn't publish the mundane is immaterial. If YOU want to look at ALL of it, search for it.
You want to talk references? How about 450 + PEER REVIEWED papers (you know, the ones the IPCC/CRU emailed about hiding)...

>Allow me to make an observation. I lurk here but seldom post. A distressing number of recent posts by people I've come to have some regard for as scientists have been decidedly unscientific. I note with a glimmer of hope the absence of a large number of regular contributors. I am not a climate scientist by any means but I have been trained in the scientific method. Referencing George Will's opinions or Al Gore's or 28% of the people you know or a group who would stoop to steal emails and selecively release parts of them does not convince me of anything. Perhaps you could address things we can all see with our eyes, such as the disappearance of the polar ice. By accusing other people of "playing politics" you are tarring yourselves with the same brush.

>My warning is this: you can say things here that lots of people will remember. You are not going to convince scientists with the kinds of arguments I've been seeing recently. And people will remember what you say.
