Roger, Marius,

To be able to judge about the question raised I would have to know the
original facts.

Nobody can prevent anybody for doing "research", how wrong it might be. We
experience it every day. Nobody can prevent anybody from distributing the
most annoying nonsense. We read, hear and see it every day in the massmedia.
One can try to correct the wrong messages - good luck! No chance. In my
homecountry antinuclear groups are supported financially by the respective
provinces.

Again I would like to have the original report which was mentioned.

Franz

Thank you, Mr Bjørningstad,

Does Norway support research by non-scientific organizations that exist
purely to spread propaganda? If Norway does not support this type of
research organization, then I strongly suggest that you carefully reevaluate
any support of the ICBUW. The organization has no scientific credibility
and its sole purpose is to spread false information about depleted uranium.

International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons

Dear Mr Roger W. Helbig,

With reference to your email received 7 April 2009.

Norway holds the view that international studies so far has not found
evidence to conclude that the use of depleted uranium causes damage to
people’s health or the environment. Nevertheless, we support further
analytical studies to be conducted by international and non-governmental
organizations that may shed new light on this matter.

We apologize for the late answer.

Yours sincerely,

Marius Bjørningstad
