Introduction to Health Physics was the main reference book for many Operational Radiation Safety professionlas from India. For teaching and solving the safety isues. I am sure many from India will miss him too.

The fourth edition of his
Introduction to Health Physics: Fourth Edition, co-authored with former student
Tom Johnson was published last fall. Herman had a career of over 50 years in
which he made Health Physics a better profession, his students better
professionals, and the world a better place. I and many others will miss him.
