[ RadSafe ] Pb as shielding and ROHS compliance

Can anyone provide a reference indicating whether lead ( Pb) shielding for 
radiation protection is exempt from the ROHS  regulations?  The regs I've 
found indicate Pb may be used in a variety of excepted  applications, none 
of which include Radiation shielding.
