The U.S. Army says there is no danger or health risk posed by depleted
uranium ordnance at Pohakuloa Training Area:
I believe what the Army says and am not concerned for my health.
I'd like to believe the Army's report but will not be satisfied without an
independent risk assessment of the depleted uranium situation.
I don't believe a word the Army says. Bring in outside experts and let the
truth be known.
this pertains to Army assessment of the DU used in the tailfins of
practice Davy Crockett rounds fired on Hawaii range in early 1960s - the
DU was used in the practice rounds to simulate the weight of the actual
tactical nuclear weapon. One of those actual rounds was fired at the
Nevada Test Site in 1962, the last above ground atmospheric nuclear test
ever conducted.
