The problem lies in the causality, not the accusation. Caveat back at you!
HOW do reactors, shut down or not, contribute to the "actual statistics"? You would not accept that people protesting nuclear power plants cause cancer in the area, even if there is a clear correlation. Propose a model, consistent with ALL the data (including the extensive data that shows no evidence of radioactive iodine releases from the plants in question), then you have something that might be valid.
If you want your argument to have traction, add weight, no hot air.

reactors which are now shut down still contribute to actual
statistics. I cannot see why they should be omitted.
