RADSAFErs,
Can anybody enlighten me, being a stupid, non US citizen and even a non
"American", what this "poll" should be good for????? (I do not even
understand the message "Right now it is 75% more"????) The Decisions have to
be made by the competent authorities, legislators etc. after having
consulted those knowledgable in the relevant field, but not by a TV station,
which tries to enhance the number of TV-spectators and therefore their
income from advertising by lurking spectators by pretending that they are
able to contribute to make decisions. Is this democracy????
Almost all of the RADSAFE community know about the topics which came up
after Peters first post. Any influence can only be made at the legislative
level.
There was recently something in "Austria" - rather Vienna - , to officially
protest the plans of constructing new reactors in the Czech (or was it
Slovak?) Republic. This is possible by European law. All the Greens (a good
question - how many are they?) were supporting it, but also the city of
Vienna officially supported it, sending letters to every household with
preprinted protests, only to be signed and to be sent at no cost to the
relevant department of the Viennese authorities. There was much advertising
in especially the low-level print media - but months after that I still have
not read anything about the result. I draw the conclusion that it must have
been disastrous.
Best regards from the exotic country of Austria! ("Austria, no cangaroos").
