Surprising criticism of President's Cancer Panel alarmism in the NY Times.
The panel's report was even too extreme for the American Cancer Society:

How can any educated person, let alone a supposed "scientist" make a
statement like this with a straight face?

“[Dr. Leffall ] acknowledged that it was impossible to specify just how

many cancers were environmentally caused, because not enough research had

been done, but he said he was confident that when the research was done, it

would confirm the panel’s assertion that the problem had been grossly

underestimated.” (Evidence? We don't need no stinking evidence!)

The thing is, the two members of the panel did not write this report. It is

a product of the NIH bureaucracy and their allies in the advocate

community.
