Dear folks,
Where better to ask than here... Coming from a slightly different part
of the business, I have not been into measurements of internal
contamination before. It would be interesting to hear if there are any
tips on a rational approach to cover the control of internal
contamination. Whole body counting would be obvious, but otherwise, for
more diffucult nuclides?
If it's for a facility with a reactor with the possibility of fuel
failures and some contamination of fission products and actinides, would
urine monitoring be the way to go? (Sampling and evaporation by some
standard method, and then analysis by...?) Would tritium monitoring be
done?
Any thoughts on the use of nuclide vectors to include for example Sr-90
by measuring Cs-137 or so?
All the best,
Mattias Olsson, Sweden
