I have a paper from a 1968 medical journal that looked at leukemia clusters in Los Angeles.  Researchers found seven clusters, randomly distributed. They concluded that cluster studies were not worth pursuing.

An inexplicable cancer cluster has arisen in and around Clyde, OH, 
about 40 miles SE of Toledo).  The cancers seem to be mostly 
eukemias, and lymphomas.  Radiation has been ruled out as a possible cause.
