How will our communities and people respond to the inevitable need to
shelter Japanese people while their land and nation are rebuilt?

I've been watching the disaster at Fukushima, a disaster within a
disaster within a disaster, and suspect that we have no concept yet of
how the world, theirs and ours, has changed.  The day before yesterday,
Japan was the third greatest economy.  Today they are pouring seawater
into nuclear power plants, destroying the investments.

We Americans may need an injection of work-ethic and the Japanese might
provide it and some self-esteem.  Some Japanese are farmers, some are
fishermen, some are senior retirees, can we help them?  Don't forget
that some of them, and of US, are grifters and some are graspers and
consumers of good will.
