I recall a rule of thumb for water shielding gammas and neutrons. Now
all we need is a reasonable guess at the dimensions of the vessel and
core.
My mnemonic is "Six and twelve, twelve and twenty-four" (tenth thickness
inches, gammas and neutrons, poly shielding and water) but it has been
too many years passed for me to apply it.
