Reading the linked article, it looks like the actual concern was the
helium's container being breached, causing it to pull oxygen out of the
air, and the liquid O_2 then creating a fire/explosion hazard in
combination with whatever flammables were around.  Whoever you quoted did
screw up quite a bit, though.

Either that or the same terrorists who were planning to carry megacuries of
cesium onto planes in paper bags are contaminating our helium supply with
the flammable variety.
