Hi All,

This position is a replacement for the Associate Director/Assistant Radiation Safety Officer position.
The University Of Utah (UofU) Radiological Health Department is looking for an Associate Director/Assistant Radiation Safety Officer as part of a current team of five Health Physicists, five Radiation Analysts, Waste Technician, and Radiation Safety Officer, along with clerical support, who make up the radiation protection program.  The UofU includes a medical school, PET Cyclotron, 2 nuclear pharmacies, TRIGA research reactor, University, Huntsman Cancer, and Orthopedic Surgical hospitals, and an extensive academic research program.  To support these activities we have a Broad Scope research, academic and medical license, three specific licenses, and a research reactor license.
The successful candidate would be able to meet the RSO requirements as described in 10 CFR 35 and have an advance degree in health physics or related field, experience in an institutional broad scope license; and research/medical/academic radiation safety program.  Effective written and oral communication skills are important along with organization, planning, interpersonal and human relations skills.  Board Certification in Health Physics is desirable.
The UofU has a very good benefits package.  For this Exempt position, the UofU contributes an amount equal to 14.2 % of your salary to a retirement account in which you are immediately vested.
