President Obama has nominated Dr. Allison Macfarlane, Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Policy at George Mason University, to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Upon her confirmation, Dr. Macfarlane would replace Gregory Jaczko as chair.
