MEDICAL HEALTH PHYSICIST
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, is renowned for excellence in patient care, biomedical research, teaching and community service. Located in the heart of Boston's Longwood Medical and Academic Area, it hosts nearly three quarters of a million patient visits annually in and around Boston.

Job Summary:

Assist the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in providing an effective broad scope radiation safety service to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's clinical, research and ancillary staff for all uses of radioactive materials and radiation generating equipment. Provide technical assistance and expertise in the treatment of patients undergoing brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy. Respond to emergencies as needed, taking on call on a rotating basis.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree required in Science field. Bachelor's degree preferred in Medical or health physics
2. 3-5 years related work experience required
3. Must pass investigative background check satisfactory to departmental, Medical Center, State and Federal regulatory policies and standards
4. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
