Having had been a Scoutmaster for many years I can tell you that your best resource for any merit badge is the merit badge book.  Go get a copy of it, it contains everything you need to know to ensure the scouts meet the intent of the merit badge requirements.  You are not trying to turn them into HPs but expose them to a very interesting career path, some basic fundamentals and fun.
