Eminent oncologist Maurice Tubiana, died Tuesday, September 24 in Paris at the age of 93, was both a physician and physicist, dual training that will make him, in the 1960s, pioneered the development of modern radiotherapy in Europe<http://www.lemonde.fr/europe/>.
An official in the former resistant, cross 39-45 war medalist Evadés tribute will be made Friday, September 27 during a military ceremony in the courtyard of the Invalides. Recipient of the Gray Medal, the highest international award in the field of radiobiology, Maurice Tubiana was also Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor.
Born March 25, 1920 in Constantine, in Algeria<http://www.lemonde.fr/algerie/>, Student in Paris and Lyon, he joined the Resistance during the Occupation, committed in 1943 in the Free French Forces and fight with the Allies. He was wounded in 1944 landing in the south of France.
