Are regulations different for using of Intraoral dental x-ray in veterinary medicine then in humans?

I would like to know if it is acceptable to have animals in cages in a treatment room that may be constantly exposed to radiation from the dental xray machine which are proposed to be set up in the treatment room. They do also have a separate room using VET-Systems (Patterson Veterinary)
