All:
Given the recent RadSafe posts on LNT for radiation, I have a question. The recent WHO caution on consumption of processed or red meat has resulted in projections of cancer deaths caused by bacon. One site asserts that eating 9 slices of bacon is equivalent to the cancer risk of smoking one cigarette. Does this calculation rest on an assumption of linearity and no threshold as well? Are the objections raised against LNT for radiation applicable to this form of carcinogen?
