[ RadSafe ] Update on Porter Ranch gas leak

The LA Times is reporting the progress on containing the gas leak in Porter Ranch.

Seems the gas company wants to build a methane containment system around the leaking pipe and then burn it off.  According to the report linked below, benzene levels are not different than generally in the LA basin and radon doesn't seem to be a concern….    

Some interesting background as well…    A conventional plug of drilling mud into the the casing of the leaking well was apparently tried, but was unsuccessful…
