The candidate selected for this position will lead and manage the NIST Gaithersburg Radiation Safety program as the Division Chief and Radiation Safety Officer to help ensure the safety and health of the NIST staff, general public, and surrounding environment while facilitating the use of radioactive materials.

Duties
To lead and manage a comprehensive radiation safety program at NIST Gaithersburg, including all aspects of the utilization of radioactive material and other sources of ionizing radiation in research and development activities, in accordance with NIST's Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licenses; applicable Federal, State, and local regulations; and the principle of keeping exposures As Low As is Reasonably Achievable.
