Last night I saw the PBS documentary about the accident in 1980 that nearly
destroyed Arkansas (and potentially Philadelphia, Boston, parts of New York,
etc) - see

The documentary very  chillingly illustrates how fragile some of our
designed systems can be.  All the more reason to reduce the number of
nuclear warheads, even with madmen in control of some countries (you can
choose the country you wish).
