Content preview: I have run into a problem where I have a known intensity beam
of photons - too small and too intense and too low an energy to actually
measure with all but maybe one instrument - which I don't have and am not
about to get - and I need to come up with a shield value. And even that is
ridiculous since the beam cross section is so small it hard to decide how
any regulatory limits apply. I think the get the actual DOSE rate - I'd have
to do monte carlo calculations - not going there. It not hard to come up
with a energy flux and make assumptions about attenuation in say water and
calculate RADs to water - or Sv if you must! [...]
