Is there any record of any kind of reactor accident at this Santa Susana
Field Laboratory?  The petitioner here on Change.org claims that worst
nuclear meltfown in US occurred here.  That certainly does not appear to be
true.

Roger,

My daughter has already beat cancer twice, but I live in constant,
debilitating fear that it will come back a third time. That I would have to
look her in the eyes when she asks me “am I going to die?” like she did
last time. It hurts me knowing that her suffering might have been prevented.

Four years ago I joined the fight to clean up the toxic nuclear waste site
I believe caused 50+ cases of childhood cancer in our area, including my
daughter’s. *The Santa Susana Field Lab was one of the worst nuclear
meltdowns in U.S. history, and decades later, we are still fighting to get
it cleaned up. *

This November, decades of community efforts will come to a head in the best
shot we’ve ever had at getting the clean up. The next California governor
has a chance to do what should have happened decades ago. *Join me in
asking California’s gubernatorial candidates to commit to a full clean up
of this toxic waste site.*

Whoever is elected governor of California has the power to influence the
department in charge of the clean up – a department which is currently
completing a proposal to leave 90% of the contamination on the Santa Susana
site permanently. If California’s governor doesn’t step in soon, almost all
of these toxic substances will remain and could be carried by the wind off
site and into a child’s lungs.

*This election for governor is our best and our last chance at preventing
another generation of cancer diagnoses. In a few days we’ll be delivering
our signatures to the candidates – will you add your name and help us reach
400,000?*

Helping my daughter through an excruciating fight for her life was
agonizing. How many children’s suffering could have been prevented? I can’t
rest knowing that our terrible club will keep growing unless something is
done.

*Please, no more kids with cancer. I’m begging you: sign our petition
before it’s too late.*
