		International Isotopes, Inc. has an immediate opening for a
Health Physics Technician.  I3 is a start up manufacturer of radiochemicals,
radiopharmaceuticals, and brachytherapy seeds.  We are located in Denton
Texas, about 35 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth. Our production
facilities include a CP-42 cyclotron and a linac originally built to be the
injector for the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). Our manufacturing
capabilities include a CGMP radiopharmaceutical facility.

Physicist

		Job Description:  

		The role of the Health Physics Technician at International
Isotopes, Inc. (I3) includes taking a proactive approach to maintaining the
safety and health of workers, the public and the environment, fostering
communication and information flow throughout the organization and
empowering others to make decisions that are in the best interest of their
safety and those around them.  Also, seeking to enhance individual
development and company teamwork as a routine method of operation and
incorporating state regulations and company procedures to ensure the company
continues to provide quality products in a safe working environment. 

		Responsibilities: 

		Assist with control and minimization of risk involved in
radiological hazards, assuring that the safety and compliance requirements
are met for use, storage, shipment, receipt and transport of hazardous
material. Conducts routine radiation and contamination surveys, obtains air
monitoring samples, conducts sealed source leak tests and inventory, obtains
routine bioassay measurements, calibration of equipment, and other duties as
assigned.  The health physics technician will be expected to participate in
evaluation of potentially hazardous conditions, and assist in implementing
control measures to ensure a safe working environment. 

		Authority and Accountability: 

		Reports to the Senior Health Physicist 

		Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

		Required - Minimum of an associates degree in health physics
or a bachelors in a related field, and one year directly applicable
experience. Alternatively, a bachelors degree in health physics or closely
allied field with directly applicable course/lab work may be accepted in
lieu of work experience. Experience in use of common office computer
applications is necessary.  

		Preferred - Bachelors in health physics or a closely allied
field, and one or two years experience. Experience in programming database
and/or applications languages is desirable.

		Specific Skills and Certifications:

		Required - Interactions with others in a team environment
and the ability to communicate safety information to workers. 


		Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

		Usual - work is conducted indoors/outdoors, in laboratories,
offices and mechanical rooms during all seasons of the month and requires
standing, walking, climbing, carrying instruments weighing up to 40 lbs. and
wearing various personnel protective equipment.

		Periodic - potentially hazardous work environment requiring
personnel protective clothing and respirator (including SCBA and chemical
protective suit).   

		Roles and responsibilities of individual jobs may change to
meet business and operational objectives.  When changes occur, the incumbent
must be trained to the new responsibilities.
