RE: Laser Laboratory Design Standards

A good starting point would be the American National Standard for the safe
use of lasers, publication ANSI Z136.1 - 1993.

You can get some information about it on the ANSI web site:

http://web.ansi.org/

Then click on the "Standards Info" button and do a search for the document
number.

It appears that this document can only be purchased in hard copy at the
moment.

Are there any standards that specifically refer to design of facilities
where laser research will be performed?

Thanks!
